Minutes from our September, 2003 Meeting:

Meeting was held at the Indianapolis Training Center, Friday, September 12, 2003.
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by Bill Goodall.
Introduction of members was giving and there was 17 members in attendance.

Treasurer there was no report given for September's meeting. Wade was on vacation.

Old Business: We talked about the auction that was held in June.

New Business:
We have a new member Daniel J. O'Connell of Indy, call sign is K9VQI. He holds a General class license.
Wes Murphy N9AJM told us where the Christmas Dinner will be held. This year, it will be at MCL , located at 5520 Castleton Corner Ln.
The phone number is 317-845-5717, the time will be at 6 PM, the date will be decided on at the meeting.
For those who can't make it to the meeting I will let you know in the November newsletter.

Don Hemenover N9DOO told us about the Indiana Broadcaster Fair that was held on the 16th of September
at Keystone and the Crossing, for anyone looking for a career in broadcasting. We voted on the Yahoo drink
for the club meeting because the Choc-cola will no longer be produced and marketed.

We got the Nominating committees together. For the Amateur of the Year Award, the committee persons are as follows:
Chuck Crist N9IH, and Don Hemenover N9DOO.
The other Committee for getting a list for people to run for offices is as follows: Dave Jarvis N9KLJ,
Trevor Fulk N9TM and Tom Chance K9XV were appointed.
So please anyone interested in an office say YES to the person when they ask and what office you are interested in.

Mike Carmer KB9RBF told everyone about what happened to the 146.70 machine. He is on the tech committee
and it was down due to a cold solder joint. The meeting was turned over to Trevor Fulk N9YM at 7:47.
He asked if anyone had any input on a guest speaker for the Christmas Dinner program. He also told us about the
Explore IUPUI which was being held on the 13th that Saturday from 10-3 on the 2nd floor building T call sign was W9PU.

Our program for the evening was given by Trevor Fulk N9YM. It was a video on the 2002 WRTC that was held in
July 2002, in Finland, It was about Radio Contesting Championships, and if anyone has done contesting you know how it is.
But these guys get setup and go for a straight 24 hour period, starting at 1200 Zulu time, the teams consist of 2 men
and a ref or judge that monitors the the whole time. These are serious contesters, they are the best of the best from all
over the world. They contest the people out on the air waves that are in turn doing contesting.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.

Remember, there are some more Hamfests coming up soon, next one will be Ft. Wayne on November 14, 15, & 16, I think,
and then in December 2003 at Greenfield High School. Will let you know the date of this ham fest later.
Will let you all know how Bedford's Hamfest was this last Sunday. Have a good week everyone and hope to see you at the
